Our Mission

Dance Creations is dedicated to bringing quality and affordable dance instruction to the community of Whitchurch-Stouffville and its surrounding areas.

Dance Creations offers recreational, pre-competitive and competitive programs for students two years of age and up! Our programs focus on the fundamentals of dance, with progressions towards more challenging turns, jumps and choreography.

Dance Creations instructors are experienced and qualified individuals.

Our Instructors 

Ms. Natalie Di Michele

Dance Creations Inc. is owned and operated by Ms. Natalie Di Michele. Ms. Natalie has been dancing for more than twenty-five years and teaching for over fifteen years, during that time her passion for the performing arts has grown a great deal. She is certified under the Performing Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC), Acrobatic Arts, Progressive Ballet Technique and is finishing her certification through the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT).

Ms. Natalie has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, salsa, contemporary and modern dance. She is a firm believer in continuing education and attends many workshops in Canada and the United States to better herself as a dance educator and studio owner every year.

Ms. Natalie has always been extremely committed to her dancing, being a full-time competitive dancer for ten years, an assistant teacher from the age of twelve, and teaching her own classes by the age of sixteen, she continued her dance education at Ryerson University, where she had the chance to learn from instructors who have performed on Broadway and for the National Ballet of Canada.

After Ryerson, Ms. Natalie attended York University where she graduated with a degree in Psychology, while completing her undergraduate degree she attended courses which focused on child development, mental disorders, anatomy, and health; this has enabled her to be better equipped when dealing with issues such as bullying, self-esteem, body image, healthy eating and injury prevention.

Ms. Natalie’s students and alumni have excelled under her instruction; being accepted into high schools and post-secondary schools for the performing arts, winning numerous overalls for highest marks, receiving most potential awards, choreographer choice awards, and performing at local events, festivals and fundraisers. Ms. Natalie opened Dance Creations in 2012 with a vision that she could help young dancers feel accepted, supported and happy the way she did growing up with dance while receiving a strong dance education. She has worked hard to create an environment where students can feel a sense of belonging, and enjoyment while learning to appreciate and love the art of dance.

Ms. Mariana Mangevil

Mariana began her studies at the age of 9 at The National Ballet School and fine arts programs in Mexico City, “Academia de La Danza Mexicana”, receiving 8 years of special dance training and fine arts. In 2001 she graduated with special honors in Ballet.

There she trained every day for 8 years in Ballet Technique (Vaganova methodology), 6 years of modern and contemporary dance, Graham and contact improvisation and 6 years of Folklore traditional Mexican dances, among 8 years of Music, Theater, Choreography, and Visual Arts.

In 1997 she obtained a scholar ship at the Kirov Academy Ballet School, in Washington, D.C. with the Artistic Director Oleg Vinogradov. At the age of 13 she played the role of “Clara” in The Nutcracker with the National Ballet of Mexico. Also, in 1999 Mariana was invited to perform at the 1st International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Congress, celebrated in Monterrey, Mexico with the Honorary President Natalia Makarova.

Mariana has participated in several national and international Ballet competitions. In 1999 she won a bronze medal at the IV National Ballet competition in Mexico City, in 2001 and 2002 Mariana won silver medal at the V and VI National Ballet competitions in Mexico. In 2002 she won Gold Medal on the XXI International Ballet Competition celebrated in Merida Yucatan, Mexico.

In 2001 Mariana was invited to participate and represent Mexico at one of the most prestigious International Ballet competitions in the world. “The Grand Prix de Lausanne” in Lausanne Switzerland. There she had the opportunity take classes and to work with some of the best teachers and choreographers in the world of dance.

From 2002 to 2008 she danced with The National Ballet Company of Mexico as a Corps of Ballet and was given the opportunity to performed soloist roles such as Two swans from the 2nd act of Swan Lake, the Crystal Fountain Fairy and the Enchanted garden fairy from sleeping Beauty, Paquita Pas the trios among others. She participated in productions such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Carmina Burana, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, just to mention a few.

Since she moved to Canada Mariana continue her dance career performing. She play the role of The Sugar Plum fairy Pas de Deux along with Jeremy Nasmith at the Nut Cracker YDA Production and continue performing with a local dance company Motus O dance theatre in their productions of Perspectives 1, A Christmas Carol, Carmina Burana, Phoenix Rising and The Little Match Girl.

She also worked as an independent choreographer and dancer participating in different festivals such as The Uxbridge Studio Tour in 2013 at Tinkles Gallery and twice for the Vanguardia Dance Festival for Latin American Choreographers at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Mariana has being teaching and sharing her passion for dance since 2011, as a Ballet Teacher and Choreographer, she has continued her professional ballet training at “In Studio” at the National Ballet in Toronto, Dance Teq and Metromovement, also in 2019 she obtain her PBT Certification “Progressing Ballet Technique” in London, Ontario.

Mariana is happy to be able to help her students achieve their dreams and share her passion for Dance.

Ms. Hannah Burkholder

Ms. Hannah Burkholder is a triple threat choreographer and dance educator from Toronto, Canada. Ms. Hannah began dancing at the age of three and has trained extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, theatre, hip hop, contemporary and acrobatics. She trained at a competitive level during school years (under Wendy Laidlaw and Lorianne Schaus) and completed exams with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A.) in Tap and Jazz. She has extensive acting, vocal and music theory training. Ms. Hannah graduated from the School of Kinesiology, University of Michigan and continues to broaden her education through courses and classes. Ms. Hannah believes that we are always learning in new ways and will forever be students! Ms. Hannah has had the opportunity to work and train internationally with amazing choreographers and educators. She works as a choreographer, teacher and adjudicator across Canada and the United States and continues to educate back home in Toronto and surrounding areas. She is the first certified Youth Protection Advocates in Dance (Y.P.A.D.) member of Canada and is an ambassador for the YPAD organization and YPAG (Youth Protection Advocates in Gymnastics) organizations. Ms. Hannah has aided the growth of YPAD’s Adjudicator Certification Course, ensuring that dancers’ safety is top priority in competitive dance.

Ms. Hannah’s work has allowed her to travel to Europe, Africa, Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bahamas and the UK. She has been recognized for her innovative and award-winning choreography, as well as her attention to execution and detail in the studio through her use of science and body mechanics in her lessons. Ms. Hannah’s current and graduate students are members of Team Canada (IDO), the Tap Dance Centre, Ballet Jorgen, cruise lines and more. Ms. Hannah is also the producer of the dance-industry-geared podcast, ‘The Dance Haus’ featuring artists and industry professionals from around the world. Past dance and vocal performing credits include Disney Cruise Line, Much Music, music videos, feature films and various stage performances including Grease, Seussical, The Addams Family, Hair, Aladdin, Toy Story, Hairspray, Cinderella and DCL stage shows as well. Ms. Hannah was one of five dancers chosen to travel to St. Petersburg, Russia to attend St. Catherine’s Palace with Disney as the iconic princess, Cinderella. Ms. Hannah continues to educate dancers of all ages and is thrilled to share her love of dance across the nation!

Ms. Veronica Laxamana

Ms. Veronica (Vee) started her passion for dance at the age of 6. She was not unfamiliar to the stage as she was quickly introduced to performing in various TV shows & media events, as well as being granted a dance scholarship with Ballet Philippines. In the Company, she was offered one of the leading roles in their Nutcracker Production as Clara. Ms. Vee continued her dance training with the National Ballet School at the age of 12. Her love for the arts brought her to pursue a major in Theatre and Arts Management from the University of Toronto.

Since then, Ms. Vee has performed all around Ontario and accomplished numerous projects as a Dancer, Instructor, Choreographer & Producer. She was a dance member of Dance Collective II, a Contemporary troupe (1997-99); Dancer for Black Magic, an urban hip hop troupe (2002); Director and Dance Captain for Tennis Canada's Racquettes Squad (2003 & 2006); Dancer/Choreographer for Niagara Fallsview and Casino Rama “International Artists” concerts (2003-2007); Jazz/Hip Hop/Ballet Instructor for Bravo! Centre for the Arts, Richmond Hill (2005-2010); Dancer/Choreographer/Hip Hop & Street Jazz Instructor/Exec Team for VYbE (2002-2007, 2015); Recreational and Competitive Instructor/Choreographer for York Dance Academy (2017-2019); & Artistic Co-Producer for YouNique Dance Collective (2003-present).

One of her memorable experiences as a performer was working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as activities & entertainment staff for a couple of years. She also got a chance to teach beginner Latin & Country line dance to guests onboard. She currently teaches and conducts workshops for public and private elementary/post-secondary schools in York and Toronto Regions, including St. Brigid CS, J Addison School, Cardinal Carter CHS and St. Joseph Morrow Park CHS. Ms. Vee hopes to continue teaching, inspiring and sharing the joy of movement and dance with children of all ages!

Miss Caitlyn McIlmoyle

Miss. Caitlyn McIlmoyle is an award-winning dancer hailing from Stouffville, ON. Miss. Caitlyn was a valued member of Dance Creations’ full competitive team for 6 years and now part of Dance Creations’ faculty. Miss. Caitlyn has been commended on her technique, attention to detail and style which has earned her prestigious awards and placements at competitions across Ontario.

Miss. Caitlyn fell in love with acro dance as soon as she began taking class. After three years of expanding her disciplines, she began assisting Ms. Hannah with her competitive and recreational acro classes. Miss. Caitlyn’s passion for teaching was ignited and she became inspired to help others reach their potential and fall in love with dance like she did.

Miss. Caitlyn continues to expand her knowledge in classes by attending conventions and workshops and is a certified ADAPT assistant teacher, with plans to expand her credentials in the future. Miss. Caitlyn has taught at summer camps, helped with competitive choreography and is an aspiring choreographer herself.

Miss. Caitlyn has been teaching for Dance Creations since 2018 and is ecstatic to see what this year brings! She is looking forward to a future of inspiring students to reach for the stars, as her teachers did for her!

Miss Stephanie Liu

Miss Stephanie has been dancing for more than 18 years and has trained extensively in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, ballet, acro, and hip hop. At the age of nine she started competing in various dance competitions across Ontario and has won multiple titles and overall awards for her performances.

On top of her dance experience, Miss Stephanie has had over eight years of dance teaching experience. She first started teaching children in community dance programs when she was 14 years old and has then moved onto teaching dance at childcare centres, summer camps, birthday parties, and now at Dance Creations.

Miss Stephanie is certified under the International Dance Teaching Standards. While helping her students develop as dancers, it’s also important to her that she creates a positive and safe environment for them to learn in. To do this, Miss Stephanie has participated in multiple children’s health and wellness programs in Canada and is certified under the HIGH FIVE healthy child development program, HEADS UP concussion training in youth sports, Standard First Aid, and is a member of Healthy Dancer Canada.

Miss Stephanie is currently continuing her dance training by attending dance classes and workshops across Toronto and at the In-Studio classes at the National Ballet. She is also currently helping the Ryerson University School of Performance develop an art history course to help promote education in the arts.

Miss Stephanie is excited to help her students meet their personal goals and grow not only in the studio as dancers, but outside of the studio as well. She hopes to create a fun and positive environment for her students to learn in and looks forward to sharing her passion of dance!

Miss Emma Harvey

Miss. Emma Harvey has been a part of the Dance Creations Competitive team for 8 years and is now joining the Dance Creations Faculty. Miss. Emma has been recognized for her passion and dedication to dance at many competitions during her dancing career. Miss. Emma has been dancing since she was three and fell absolutely in love with it the moment she stepped in the studio. After years of gaining knowledge and becoming a well-rounded dancer, she began assisting Ms. Natalie and Ms. Mariana with their recreational classes. She has been assisting for 7 years and has recently starting subbing and teaching, and hopes to encourage everyone who comes to Dance Creations to work for their goals and to help others love dance as much as she does. 

She is a certified ADAPT assistant teacher and is excited to keep learning and expanding her knowledge in the future.

Miss. Emma has been teaching at Dance Creations since 2019 and can’t wait to see what the new year brings! She is looking forward to helping students do what they love and build their confidence, just as dance did for her!
